Henry House Restaurant

Experiences | Investigations

Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Henry House was constructed of ironstone and granite in 1834 and was to be the home of William Alexander Henry for the next 20 years. It is now owned by Donna and Bill Alsop.

Born in Halifax, Will Henry had many accomplishments. At 24, he became the youngest member of the house of assembly, he was attorney-general of Nova Scotia,he was mayor of Halifax in 1870, was one of the fathers of confederation, and was the first Nova Scotian to be appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. Whether William Alexander Henry is responsible for some of the unexplained things that happen in the Henry House Restaurant we’re not sure, but Donna tells us that a young girl died of whopping cough in the house. Could this girl be behind much of the phenomena that occur in the restaurant?

Investigations

This evening, we tried to communicate with the resident ghost(s). This was the first time we were not only able to film what we believe to be orbs acting in an unexplainable manner, but dust orbs and a fly all at the same time. It was a learning experience trying to differentiate between the three objects. As we don’t want to say all were ghost orbs, or none were, we found these interesting characteristics amongst them:

While we were there nothing occurred and there were no noticeable fluctuations with our environment. Besides the orbs, one EVP was caught on audiotape, and another on video.

We’d like to thank Bill and Donna for letting us into, not only their restaurant, but their home. The next time you’re in the neighborhood stop in to experience this great historic house; I recommend the fishcakes and the Ringwood beer. You never know, you may even run into their special guest.
