TV Land knocked on our door, again.

In the spring of 2008 we were contacted by Clerisy Entertainment in regards to being in a TV show about ghost hunting they were producing. Due to the current state of ghost hunting shows already on TV we were reluctant to pursue this project. The idea behind the show sounded new and different though when described to us, so in the end, we took the plunge.

Fast forward to the first weekend in November, 2008. We find ourselves filming the pilot episodes for the show with the director from Red Star Films. Unfortunately, after the pilot shoot it was decided that our method of ghost research wasn't going to work for TV. The producer and director of the show decided that they needed something more entertaining. In the name of preserving our credibility and integrity we decided not to cross that bridge and move forward with the TV show.

However, we would like to thank the producer, the director, and the rest of the crew for the experience. We wish them the best of luck with their future endeavors. You can also view the two investigations we performed during that time in Liscombe and Sherbrooke.

TV Land knocked on our door

On July 7th, 2007 we were contacted by SMS Concepts Casting in Toronto to audition for a TV Show on Slice Network Called "Paranormal Investigators". As exciting and flattering as this is, we've decided to decline the offer for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons was that the show didn't relate to our work. Aside from ghosts and hauntings, the show also planned to focus on other aspects of the paranormal, such as Bigfoot, sightings of the Virgin Mary, etc. Since we only specialize in apparitions and related phenomena, we don't consider ourselves to be paranormal investigators. Again, although we declined the offer, Grim Undertakings still appreciates the call.

A Note about Orbs

Ghost lights, corpse lights, will o' the wisps, dead lights. What are these transparent balls of light? Most can be attributed to dirty equipment, rain, snow, bugs, reflections, etc. When we have exhausted all natural explanations, we are left to believe that these common photographed anomalies are some form of "spirit energy." Some suggest that orbs are not spirits, that they are merely transferred energy from a source to a spirit in an attempt to manifest itself. If this theory is true, physics dictates that energy transferred in this fashion would appear in the natural shape of a sphere. Could this explain our haunted photographs?

Orbs can appear completely transparent as well as in solid form. Depending on shutter speed, it is also possible to capture an orb in motion. We find ourselves more excited over these "moving orbs" as they are more difficult to disprove. Some orbs have a hint of colour while others can appear pure white. Orbs do not appear in photographs alone. The Australian aborigines have seen similar lights. Their "min-min lights" have appeared to them in the outback. Additionally, there are reports all over the globe of people seeing ghostly lights after dusk.

When involved in such a scrutinized area of interest, we are continually being challenged to prove our research. Many questions are asked of our photos of claimed ghostly appearances. These questions come from others as well as us. In order to classify one of our pictures as containing an orb, we personally attempt to break our picture down from every angle. We go through a series of questions in an attempt to disprove any natural explanation. Some questions we touch on are, were there any reflective objects in the frame? Were we in a dusty environment at the time of the photo? Are there any still objects from other shots that now appear blurred? These, along with many other questions, are answered before we feel comfortable in posting our picture and claiming it to be an authentic Orb photograph.

Conduct a search for Orbs on any search engine and you'll find yourself looking at thousands of photos. Some of them appear to be authentic, most are clearly explainable. It's also common to find many of the same pictures on different sites. These are some of the reasons why we will post our original pictures exclusively. However, we will revisit this decision in the near future when time permits.
