Private Residence 2
A twenty minute drive from downtown Halifax will bring you to a 30+ year old Cape Cod that has reoccurring unexplained activity. This house shares no immediate similarities to the traditional "Haunted" houses that we read about so often. There are no negative/strange feelings. On the contrary, the house is very warm and inviting. There are no known stories of death, tragedy, or loss. It's a very social house with many areas for a host to entertain their guests. This house was also called home by one of our members for a year and that's how we've come to know the interesting activity that is occurring.
Experiences
The first known experience happened in 2006 when our "Grimmer" was up late one night playing cards. He heard one of the children who also occupies the house come downstairs and enter the kitchen. It was common for the children to wake in the middle of the night for a drink. So he put the card game on hold to give them a hand. When he entered the kitchen he was surprised to find no one there. He then checked the bathroom, dining room, and TV room. He determined that he was the only one still up at this late hour. He thought nothing more of the event and continued his poker losing streak. The next day he asked the kids if they were up throughout the night. They were both sincere in informing him that they had not. He left it as just being 'one of those things'. You would think that being a Ghost Researcher would have him doing EVP sessions, but he turned a blind eye to the event. At least until the next experience.
Our group member and his fiance were home alone eating supper before a road trip. They were enjoying some of Halifax's best Chinese food when they heard a crash in the TV room. They walked in to find the floor register from the forced air furnace had lifted up, and landed upside down on the floor over a foot away from its cut out. That's the moment our ever questioning Grimmer thought "Huh, something weird is going on."
Other residents of the house have also had experiences. Two others have gone down into the basement to find that someone had lifted the lid on the washer. This has happened more than once. The footsteps down the stairway has also happened to them and as recent as the spring of 2009 the occupants awoke in the middle of the night to a loud knocking from the main level. After rushing downstairs they determined that there wasn't anyone at the door nor was there anything out of place.
Investigations
September 26, 2008
Our guests for the evening were Dale and Cecil who were there to see an investigation unfold in preperation for the TV show we were involved in.
The owner informed us, that since the last time we were there that not only the washing machine lid, but now the dryer door, was also opening by itself. Whether this was in response to us previous trying to communicate with the unknown(s) in the house, we do not know.
Again, nothing was recorded on audio or video except for the odd, irregular thumps that were recorded last time. There were no significant fluctuations with the EMF meter or noticable temperature changes.

August 15, 2008
While we were there nothing strange occurred. Notable though was the blower to the forced air furnace that was on when we arrived. Dwayne turned it off while we were there and later mentioned to the owner that we had forgot to turn it back on when we left. The owner found this strange as he had no idea how to turn the blower on or off, and since the furnace was turned off itself for the summer, there was no way the blower could turn on by its own volition.
We found no cases of EVP on audio and there was nothing out of the ordinary recorded on video. However, we did manage to record some odd, irregular thumps that we couldn't explain. There were no temperature changes or fluctuations with the EMF meter.

Many thanks to the owner of this house for letting us investigate. Since strange things are still occurring there, we consider this location as an ongoing investigation, and we look forward to returning in the future.
