Halifax County Regional Rehabilitation Centre
The “Rehab”, as it’s come to be known, is located on Bisset Road in Cole Harbour , Nova Scotia. It was built in 1929, then a new section was added in 1949, and another section in 1965. Like most old asylums, some have speculated that patient experiments and abuse occurred here when the Rehab first opened which may be the reason behind the reported paranormal occurrences. Two patient graveyards are located across the street. The rehab closed in 2002, and although owned by the HRM, sits abandoned.
Experiences
- There is a plaque on the wall which apparently cannot be removed.
- There are two pianos that have both been heard playing by themselves on separate occasions, in different rooms.
- What appeared to by a nurse has been seen.
- A person was found sitting in a room by themselves in a chair when a security guard was conducting his rounds.
- When the Rehab was functional, a nurse working in the reception area was touched by an unseen hand.
Investigations
Winter, 2003
During the time that was spent inside the Rehab nothing occurred, and there were no noticable fluctuations of any kind. However, even though no other data was recorded, we did manage to capture some interesting EVP.
EVP 1 An answer whispered to Rob's question?
EVP 2
EVP 3 Whispered over our conversation
The Rehab is an incredibly spooky place, which gets even spookier when night falls, and takes a considerable amount of time to explore. There are trespassing laws in place here, and once again, Grim Undertakings does not condone trespassing. Any inquiries should be conducted through proper avenues.
